Factory Paint Daubs and Assembly Marking
Interior
Disk brake pedal support from my 68 coupe New Jersey car.
Green paint daub on top of support. |
Headliner bows. The first bow had no paint.
Then going front to back, the ends were dipped in red, white and blue paint. |

Yellow mark on side of odometer, red circle on one lead to fuel gauge. |

Drive Train
Original Drive shaft for 68 with a 289/302 and an automatic transmission.

Stripes are starting to show with a little cleaning.
Yellow Green, Pink White and Black. |
Derusted - You can see the stripes better. |
Restored, Used gun blueing to mimic the weld heat marks. |
Ready to Install. |
Installed.

Here is the passenger side motor mount for the 289. Someone painted the whole thing yellow.

Here is a before and restored shot of the mark on the C4 Transmission.

There is a blue mark on the steering box shown, a white one is on the end to the left and a
pink one was on the casting numbers but came off while cleaning.


There is a pink mark on the passenger axel.
On the bottom of the axel housing, there is either a B12 or a 1312 in white paint.

The sheet metal stamp dates range from 1/20/68 (on the pacage tray brace) to 2/5/68 (on the driver's side Shock Tower) .
